William “Babe” Dixon, age 78, Harrodsburg, husband of Betty Saunders Dixon, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home. Born August 21, 1939 in College Corner, OH, he was the son of the late John Wilson and Myrtle Lee (Marshall) Dixon. He was a retired quality analyst for IBM in Charlotte, NC, Boulder, CO, Tucson, AZ and Lexington KY. He was a former bus driver in Lexington, Kentucky and a veteran of the United States Army.

 Survivors other than his wife include: four daughters, Lena (Chris) Kay Smith of Florence, SC, Rhonda (Jason) Renee Cooper of Newton, Kansas, Donna Sue Watkins of Lexington, KY and Pamela Jean (Keith) Brown of Harrodsburg, KY; two sons, Billy (Imogene) Allen Dixon of Mt. Sterling, KY and Michael (Teresa) Edward Day of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Lillian (Norman) Jones of FL and Marsha Kay Hammel of Winchester, KY, fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Terry Lee Dixon and Roger Gene Dixon; four brothers, Wallace Dixon, David Dixon, Wilson Dixon, Jr. and Delbert Dixon and two sisters, Carolyn Dixon and Anna Lee.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Joe Smith. Committal services will be held at Burgin Memorial Gardens in Burgin with Terry Cornish officiating.

Pallbearers are: Darrell Bottoms, Shawn Bottoms, Tim Belt, John James, Donald Smith, Milton Hammons, Scott Hammons and Tony Bailey. Honorary bearers will be his Sunday School Class at Shakertown Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service at Sims Funeral Services.
