Wallace Atwood Parks, Jr.

            Wallace Atwood Parks, Jr., 56, of Lexington, Kentucky formerly of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.  Born September 12, 1960 in Mercer County, he was the son of Anna Parks and the late Wallace Atwood Parks, Sr.

          He was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School in the class of 1979.  He was a builder, working in construction and also worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Burgin, Kentucky.

         Survivors include his wife, Marcia Brown Parks; three children, Brandon Lee Parks, Myla Jene’ Parks and Jamar Zachary Parks, all of Lexington, and two step-daughters, Nikki Lynn Brown, Lexington and Amber Penman, Stanford; one sister, Jennifer Ann Parks, Harrodsburg and one brother, Marty Fitzgerald (Stephanie) Parks, Lexington.  Also surviving are five grandchildren; Jasmine Adrianna Harris, Azariah Ford, Brayson Wallace-Lee Parks, Alaylah Dove Young and “TJ” Horton; one niece, Niki (Art) Lewis and four nephews, Cameron, Cody, Kennedy and Kasen Parks and many cousins and friends.

        Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 at Little Zion Baptist Church in Burgin, Kentucky by Brother Phillip Yates.  Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 29 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church.
