Steven Lee Kestler

Steven Lee Kestler, age 62, husband of Melinda Combs Kestler, Harrodsburg, KY and son of Don and Wilma (Truax) Kestler of Burgin, KY died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Lexington Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY. Steven was born January 1, 1955 in Salina, KS. He was a graduate of Hamburg High School in Hamburg, NY, received his BA degree from Kennedy Western University in Cheyenne, Wyoming, was a Recruiter for Kestler Associates, a US Yoshukai Black Belt, a member of the Intercity Personnel Association in Appleton, Wisconsin, a great fan of the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, Western Kentucky University and was a member of Carpenter’s Christian Church in Harrodsburg, KY.

Survivors other than his wife and parents include: two sons, Christian Lee Kestler and Ethan Daniel Kestler both of Harrodsburg, KY; one sister: Shauna (Roy) Burger of Burgin, KY; three nieces, Carli Combs and Meghan Combs both of Whitesburg, KY and Dawn (Lewis) Sexton of Burgin, KY; one nephew, Shawn (Kristin) Burger of Burgin, KY; his mother-in-law, Pat Combs and his grandmother-in-law, Rina Freeman both of Whitesburg, KY; one brother-in-law, David (Tammie) Combs of Whitesburg, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Carpenter's Christian Church with Bro. John Kesel and Bro. Greg Warren officiating. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens in Burgin, KY. Pallbearers are: Shawn Lewis, Lewis Sexton, David Combs, Roy Burger, Shinji Matsuda, Dennis Berry, and Bobby Gray. Honorary bearers are Cooper Sexton, Reed Sexton, Emma Kate Sexton, S.J. Burger, Ashlynn Burger and Jake Burger.

Visitation will be Monday, September 18, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Carpenter’s Christian Church and Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the church.
