Realey Jackson Holt Jr.

Realey Jackson Holt Jr, age 97, Harrodsburg, widower of Lucille Peavler Holt, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg, KY. Born July 17, 1920 in Taylorsville, KY, he was son of the late Realey Jackson Sr. and Martha Belle (Taylor) Holt. He was a former taxi driver for Ryan’s Fleet Line Cab Co. of Harrodsburg, KY, Green Cab Service and Johnson Cab Service both in Danville, KY. He was a member of the 3 CCC’s, enjoyed playing cards, fishing, being an avid UK sports fan, a Cincinnati Reds fan and was a member of the Dry Branch Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, KY.

Survivors include: one daughter, Dorothy (Bobby) O'Neill of Parksville, KY; two sons, Roy (Eva) Holt and Jerry (Judy Jarrell) Holt both of Harrodsburg, KY; thirteen grandchildren, Roy (Rita) Holt, Harrodsburg, KY, Angela Holt, Danville, KY, Jerry Holt, Liberty, KY, Jennifer (Lionel) Gordon, Salvisa, KY, Jamie Holt, Shelbyville, KY, Terry Holt, Danville, KY, Barry Holt, Hustonville, KY, Glenda Elaine Lidy, Jeffrey Lovett, Rita Mae Lovett,   Melissa Lovett, Jonathan Lovett and Nicholas Abston, all of Frankfort, IN; many great and great-great grandchildren and a special friend, Kathy Graham. Realey was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Ellis Holt, a daughter, Marsha Lovett Abston, a half-brother, James Peavler, two sisters, Lela Robinson, and Lizzie Mae Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Friday, September 22, 2017 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Donnie Releford assisted by Bobby O’Neill. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY.

Pallbearers are: Lionel Gordon, Bobby O'Neill, Harold Baker, Danny Humber, Alfred Holt and Scott Holt.

Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2017 from 11:00 am until the time of service at Sims Funeral Services.
