Pauline A. (Buchanan) Hood

Pauline Buchanan Hood, age 95, Harrodsburg, KY, widow of Buford Hood, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at McDowell Place in Danville. Born August 18, 1920 in Boyle Co., KY, she was daughter of the late Ollie and Mary (Arnold) Buchanan. She was a bowling champion, loved to garden and fish, made many quilts and afghans and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church where she was a participant in the Light and Lively Group.

Survivors include one son: Dr. Fred (Dr. Mary Cowles) Hood of Lancaster, KY. In addition, the late Jack (Nancy) Hood of Harrodsburg, KY who was a surviving son, but passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 following her death on Friday, July 29th. Five sisters, Dorothy Hood of Harrodsburg, KY, Martha Ann May of Danville, KY, Christine McBee of Stanford, KY, Susie (Bruce) Morris of Stanford, KY and Helen (Maurice) Ham of Danville, KY; four grandchildren, Emily (Caleb) Bottoms of Harrodsburg, KY, Katie Jones of Simpsonville, KY; Stephen (Sandra) Hood of Miami, FL and Sarah (Erik) Hood of Lexington, KY; three great grandchildren, Walker Hood, Anabell Hungerbuhler, Lexington, KY and Mack Jones V, Simpsonville, KY. Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Hugh Buchanan and by a grandson, John Michael Hood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Eddie Russell. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY.

Pallbearers are: Charlie Graves, Allen Whitenack, Tom Tye, Chad Ellis, Tim Ellis and Eddie Russell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from noon until the hour of service at Sims Funeral Services.
