Opal Burrus Sigar, age 90, Harrodsburg, widow of James "Jack" Sigar, died Friday, November 27, 2015 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care Unit in Harrodsburg KY.
Born October 25, 1925 in Mayo, KY, she was daughter of the late Raymond and Hallie (Jones) Burrus. She was a glass inspector for Corning Glass Works Incorporated in Harrodsburg, KY for 23 and ½ years and was an avid University of Louisville sports fan and a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons: Randy Elvin Sigar of Owensboro, KY and James Mason Sigar of Harrodsburg, KY; two sisters: Elizabeth Burrus and Alma Meaux both of Harrodsburg, KY and one brother, Jimmy Burrus of Nicholasville, KY; three grandchildren., Dawana Sigar and Donte Sigar both of Owensboro, KY and Latemus Meaux of Burgin, KY. She was preceded in death by one brother, Davis Burrus and one sister, Edna Coates.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Maple Grove Cemetery Pavilion by Elder J. D. Short III. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Services.
