James Robert Slone

James Robert Slone, age 72, husband of Rosemary Slone of Harrodsburg, KY, formerly of Knott County, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at his home. He was born in Pippa Passes, Kentucky on July 28, 1943 to Dewey Slone and Herma Slone. He was an employee of the Sheller Globe Manufacturing company as a semi-truck cab producer. He liked to do woodworking, writing stories and poems, was an avid bird watcher and a member of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors other than his wife include: five sons: James Slone, Clinton Dale (Paula) Slone, Randy Slone, Robbie (Tammy) Slone all of Lexington and Eugene Draper, Wellington, OH; two daughters: Michelle (Matt) Sebo, Sullivan, OH and Crystal (Robbie) Puls Cleveland OH; one brother: Dewey Allen Slone, Hindman, KY; three sisters: Hattie Counts, Ohio, H. Sybil Hall, London, KY and Phyllis Neace, Lancaster, KY plus a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Clinton Slone and Arnold Slone.

Funeral services will be held at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Kelly Slone officiating. Burial will follow at the Dewey Slone Family Cemetery at Topmost, KY. Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 after 6:00 p.m. at the Hindman Chapel. Sims Funeral Services of Harrodsburg was in charge of local arrangements.
