Grover Cleveland Farris

Grover C. Farris, age 86, Harrodsburg, husband of Jimmie (Speight) Farris, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville.KY Born March 2, 1930 in Peason, LA, he was son of the late Grover C. and Ada Helen (White) Farris, was a graduate of Lake Wells, FL High School, served in the United States Army, was an employee of Snyder Ventures of Metairie, LA. and was a member of the Baptist faith.
              Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter Sherie Farris of Garland, TX, one son, Gary (Teri) Farris of Belle Chasse, LA , seven grandchildren Kasey (Dan) Windels of Baton Rouge, LA, Gary Farris and Steven Farris  both of Belle Chasse, LA, Kimberly Ruediger of Garland, TX, Keri Ruediger of Austin, TX,  Sam Javid and Cathy Javid both of Lexington, KY; two great-grandchildren, Luke Windels of Baton Rouge, LA and Lily Farris of Belle Chasse, LA, one son-in-law, Vahid (Tracey) Javid  of Lexington, KY and several nieces and nephews. Grover was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Javid, two brothers, Quinton Farris and James Farris and two sisters Juanita Tarpley and Jerry Kroger.

Funeral services will be conducted 9:00 am, Friday, August 12, 2016 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Tyler Smith. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY. Visitation will be Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, August 12, 2016 after 8:00 am at the funeral home.
