Gloria Jean Darland Murphy, age 69, Harrodsburg, long term companion of James “Jim” Corman of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg after a long illness.

Born November 9, 1946 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Ray Evelyn (Devine) Darland. She was a factory employee having worked at ATR, Cricketeer and Hallmack; and was a former employee of B & B’s and Ann’s Restaurants. She enjoyed attending yard sales and was an avid reader.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Angela Carol Hanes of Harrodsburg, and one son, James (Tammy) Keith Pinkston of Danville; two sisters, Mary Margaret Ward of Harrodsburg, and Ruth Evelyn Hatter of Danville; two brothers, Connie Ray (Joyce) Darland and Dale (Rhonda) Thomas Darland, both of Harrodsburg; one granddaughter, Erica Nicole Patterson of Danville and two great granddaughters, Kelsey Harris of Lancaster and Tia Sallee of Colorado. Gloria was preceded in death by a son, Terry Pinkston, five brothers, Floyd Darland, Earl Darland, J.B. Darland, Marvin Darland, and George Darland and one sister, Virginia Matherly.

A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Sims Funeral Services by Bro. Hilary Claypool.
