Frederick "Fred" J. Bottoms

Frederick J. "Fred" Bottoms, age 80, Harrodsburg, husband of Arnetta Bottoms, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born July 4, 1936 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was son of the late Roy and Clora (Yeaste) Bottoms. Fred and Arnetta were wed in Holy Matrimony on December 27, 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army, was a retired factory employee of Signet Systems of Harrodsburg, he enjoyed fishing and gardening and was a member of the St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Harrodsburg

Survivors other than his wife include: four daughters: Lois Smith of Harrodsburg, KY, Wanda (Kendall) Patton of Harrodsburg, KY, Stephanie (Jesse) Morris of Lexington, KY and Tracey (Kimball) Jones of Harrodsburg, KY, three sons: Frederick Bottoms, Jr. of Harrodsburg, KY, Kenton (Marceline) Bottoms of Lawrenceburg, KY and Brandon Bottoms of Harrodsburg, KY, one sister, Mary Moore of Lexington, KY, twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Larson Bottoms and two brothers, Willie "Jack Rabbit" Bottoms and R.C."Ike" Bottoms.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Centennial Baptist Church by Elder J. D. Short, III and Rev. William Jenkins. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Pallbearers are: Michael Harris Jr.,  Kenton Bottoms II, Devan Patton, Donovan Patton, Chrys Jones, Juhon Goodman, Josh Goodman, Kameron Jones. Honorary bearers are David Taylor, Kenneth Jones, Glenn Walker, Larry Andrews, Will Jones, John T. Mayes, James Thurman, Dylan Colvin, James Bryant and Charles Winn.

Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  and Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Centennial Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Sims Funeral Services of Harrodsburg, KY.
