Douglas Carl Jackson

Douglas Carl Jackson, age 73, Harrodsburg, KY, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Lexington, KY. Born September 27, 1943 in VanBuren, Missouri, he was son of the late Carl and Lois Tackitt Jackson. He was a 1961 graduate of Carter Co. Reorganized District R-1 in Missouri, attended 4 years of college, was a Gemologist at LeRoy’s Jewelry in Lexington, KY, was employed at Car Stereo Warehouse in Lexington, KY for a number of years. He was a member of the Shriners and Masonic Lodge in Lexington and a member of the Eastern Star in Nicholasville, KY and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter: Angelia (Charles) Eades of Harrodsburg, KY; one brother: Michael (Bonnie) Jackson of St. Clair, Missouri; four grandchildren, Devin (Clarissa) Buchholz of Georgetown, KY, Jacob Eades of Harrodsburg, KY, Brittanie Jackson and Ethan Jackson both of Ocean City, CA; two great grandchildren, Myiah Buchholz and Kylan Buchholz both of Harrodsburg, KY. Douglas was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Carey Jackson, and a grandson, Kyle Buchholz.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Sims Funeral Services by Keith Greer. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY. Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 12 Noon until the time of service at Sims Funeral Services.
