David Lee (Butch) Payne

     David Lee “Butch” Payne, 64, of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky died Sunday, October 30, 2016 after a long illness.  Born April 30, 1952 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Leroy Yeast and Beulah Bean Payne. He was a retired horse trainer and groomer, having worked for numerous horse farms in Mercer and Anderson counties and was member of the Baptist faith.

        Survivors include two sons, David Lee (Cherrie) Payne, Jr. and Lewis Payne, of Lawrenceburg; three daughters, Desandra Payne of Florida, Gloria Payne of Lawrenceburg and Everly Hounshell of Georgetown; five brothers, William “Bo” Yeast, Robert Yeast and Nick (Debra) Yeast all of Harrodsburg, George Yeast and Steve Yeast of Danville; two sisters, Catherine (Sam) Wheat and Bobbie Bean of Harrodsburg; seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. David was preceded in death by one brother, Richard “Rocky” Allen Payne, Sr. and three sisters, Sarah Ellis, Alicia Smith and Carol Short.

           There will be no services or visitation as the family selected cremation.
